Thank you friends, family and fans in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston and NYC…shouts of “SAMURAI!” never sounded so good! We managed to skirt the Polar Vortex and make it home–apparently the official term for the genesis of these things is “Bomb Cyclone“! In any case our hearts have been filled, our songs have been sung and so we push forward into the new Fall/Winter season. We will be do our best to add more anecdotes/hijinx and blog content re: our east coast tour in the upcoming weeks, so check back!
On the PDX home front we wanted to make you aware of Kyleen’s recent escapades. She recently recorded strings and background vocals on My Morning Jacket’s upcoming release as well as the upcoming record from The Decemberists entitled, “What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World“. Please do yourself a favor and purchase copies for your whole family HERE, after all the Holiday season is approaching quickly!
For those of you who may be visiting or living at the beautiful Oregon Coast, we will be doing a three day long residency at The Adrift Hotel & Spa in Longview, WA (just up the road from amazing Astoria, OR). The dates are November 17th-19th. We’ve done this residency before and we’ve found that it is a unique opportunity to connect and relax in an intimate environment with people from around the globe.
Lastly, as you can see from the show poster below, we have a big night of music coming up for all the folks who are hunkering down in PDX. Our friends in the band Black Prairie invited us out to support them on a bill at Doug Fir Lounge on November 21st. As is the case with any show Black Prairie does these days, this will sell out…so get your advance tix HERE if you plan on joining us! If you don’t already know, 4/6ths of Black Prairie play and tour full time with The Decemberists. Since those members will be out galavanting across the world supporting the upcoming record I mentioned earlier, this will be a special chance to see them live. This will also be our opportunity to unveil the new arrangements and songs that we’ve been working so much on! “Something’s Missing”, “Big Moments” and “Breaking Up is Easy” are all new and will all be included on our setlist 🙂
