Shows + Busy Goings-on

Hello all, Ji here…

Swansea world has been quite busy since our last post, albeit in sidelong ways. Rebecca and I just got home from joining Loch Lomond on a tour supporting Case/Lang/Veirs. Neko Case, Laura Veirs and KD Lang are all artists that we admire and have been fans of for a long time…so to get the chance to watch them night after night and be up close and personal with such talent was a true education that left us with lifelong memories and friends. The shows were sold out, so to perform daily for enthusiastic crowds of thousands of people was astonishing and wonderful. Here we are in Denver on a HOT day…

Kyleen has been busy too! She’s been continuing to travel and play with The Heartless Bastards supporting their latest release, Restless Ones. She has teamed up with her sister, Patti King (Radiation City, The Shins) and Anna Fritz (Portland Cello Project) to create Bizarre Star Strings. They have been unofficially the go-to string trio in Portland for quite some time now, contributing to recent records by My Morning Jacket, The Decemberists, Case/Lang/Veirs, Band Of Horses and Karl Blau, among many others.

Swansea has some good shows coming up as we await the release of our Self Group released record, Flaws. Up next is a support slot for 80s New Wave wunderkind, The Fixx at Portland’s storied Aladdin Theater. Please check the Shows link for more information on all upcoming and past performances.
